It is a stressful enough time for children who have made the move from Primary to Secondary School without discovering that they are not at the same Maths level as their classmates and struggling to keep up.
This is the time when many students come to Kip McGrath for the first time and our teachers will help students with topics they are learning in class but also go back and revise and re-learn some maths skills that may not have been mastered. It is important to fill in any gaps in learning as soon as possible to enable students to fully comprehend more difficult maths topics will arise.
Our Secondary Maths Tutors are all qualified teachers and have experience of teaching in local schools so are ideally placed to ensure that every child is working to the level expected of them. Exam students will receive extra tuition in study skills, exam techniques, past papers and of course motivation and guidance by a qualified Maths Teacher who knows what is expected of exam students to gain good passes in In National 4 or 5 and Higher Grade Maths exams.
Advanced Maths Skills for SQA Secondary Exam Students
Our Maths teachers understand the Scottish school curriculum and what is required by students to get the passes required in Scotland. In Secondary level, the focus becomes more on individual teaching and learning and really understanding all the levels of Maths required to pass SQA exams whether it be National 4 or 5, or Higher Grade. Sometimes students need some help in actually preparing for exams. By going over the format of what is required and past papers, our teachers work with exam students to fully prepare them for what is going to happen on exam day, take away the doubt and nerves and enable students to apply the maths skills learned to achieve the best results possible.
